Kosmos waterfront chalet

Less than an hour’s drive from both Johannesburg and Pretoria and conveniently located mid-way between Johannesburg International Airport and Sun City, this charming waterfront chalet nestles on a hillside in the exclusive security village of Kosmos.

The large cool, verandah offers spectacular 180 degree views of the Hartebeespoort Dam and the hills and valleys beyond. As the sun rises over the water, hot-air balloons may float into view. From here you can watch the colourful spinnakers unfold as yachts of all shapes and sizes compete in regattas or you may admire the slalom water skiers practicing their skills.

Abundant bird life includes the fish eagle with its distinctive cry, several species of kingfisher and other water birds. Leguaans breed in the small bay below the cottage and the barking of baboons can sometimes be heard in the late afternoon as the sun disappears behind the cliffs.

As night falls, the lights of the settlements across the dam shimmer on the water, creating a magical atmosphere as you relax and listen to the nocturnal symphony of nature’s creatures.

The free standing chalet is self-catering and has a kitchen equipped with microwave and dishwasher. A Weber-braai ensures hassle-free outdoor cooking. The chalet is comfortably fitted with a e queen-sized double bed and double bunk, open-plan lounge area and large, furnished verandah.
